Steamed Apple Pie Filling

I made you a picture and then I eated it. All gone.

Materials & Methods

In a metal dish combine:
1 C. water
1/3 C. sugar
2 T. cornstarch
1/4 t. cinnamon
1/8 t. nutmeg or some finely chopped or grated ginger
1/8 t. salt

Boil until it thickens. Turn off heat.

Chop up 1 medium apple and add to the dish immediately, stirring to coat the chunks so they don't oxidize and turn brown.

Place the dish in your steamer and steam for 8-10 minutes for gooey apples, less for firmer apples. I did mine for 10 and they fall apart when I so much as think about touching them :3

This tastes awesome mixed up with oatmeal.
