Steamer Recipe: Potatoes & Carrots

A super-easy stoveless recipe! I made this dish in a Tatung electric steamer, but you can make it on a stovetop using a metal or bamboo steamer (or rig one up with a covered wok, some water, and heat-proof dish suspended on wooden chopsticks).

Leave the skins on the potatoes and carrots for more nutrients!

An unattractive picture of a SUPER-yummy dish.

The amounts listed are flexible. You can pretty much use as much of anything as you want ;P

Materials and Method:

Place the following in your steaming vessel:
1 potato, washed and cubed.
1 American carrot washed and diced, or 1/2 an Asian carrot, washed and cubed.
1-3 T. water

If using Tatung electric steamer, fill the steamer with 1-1.5 cups of water.

Check for doneness. When the veggies are easily pierced with a fork they are done. Otherwise let it go for another round of steaming.

Remove the dish from the steamer. Top with:

1/2 T. butter
salt to taste (a must if your butter is unsalted)

Toss to combine.
